URGENT roadworks are taking place tonight on the A379 near Exminster. 

Starting from 7pm, the road will be closed to traffic. 

Devon County councillor Alan Connett has warned residents of the full closure of the road. 

He said: ‘Due to the nature of the works a full closure is required and advance signs will also be placed on the highway.

‘Devon Highways apologise for the short notice and the inconvenience caused, including construction noise. 

‘They will endeavour to keep all disruption to a minimum.’

It is anticipated there will be a full signed diversion in place which will follow the route of the A379 to Haldon Hill then the A380 towards Newton Abbot, then the A381 to Teignmouth before rejoining the A379 and passing through Dawlish and Starcross.
