A HAIR-CUTTING service for the homeless has been launched in Dawlish.
Hair In The Community provides hair cuts to those living on the streets and the vulnerable.
Started in Exeter in 2009, it has expanded its services to run monthly sessions at the Strand Centre in Dawlish.
Founder Mary Pugsley MBE explained: ‘Hair In The Community started to provide the disadvantaged with free hair cuts.
‘As well as providing haircuts, we give them the chance to take them through a hair cutting qualification in Level 2 barbering as well as helping with mental health.’
The charity started as a part of Mary’s Exeter-based business Hair At Academy.
Barber Rhiannon Belcher said: ‘It is a great initiative.
‘I love it. To expand into Dawlish is a pleasure.’
