THE newest addition to a Teignbridge fire station is going from strength to strength after winning an award voted for by his peers.

Firefighter Ben Leaney, who is the newest crew member attached to Buckfastleigh Fire Station, won the ‘Recruits Award’ award after having be voted for his fellow recruits.

‘Well done Ben, you are doing the station proud’ a spokesman for the station said.

‘Sweep the sheds mate’ the spokesman added.

Firefighter Leaney received the award after passing all the elements of the Firefighter Recruit Acquisition Course, Buckfastleigh Fire Station said.
