A FOUR time world record holder gearing up to take on an ambitious challenge was the latest guest speaker at Newton Abbot Chamber of Commerce’s monthly breakfast networking event.

Lexi Chambers, who is to traverse more than 850 miles from Land’s End to John o’ Groats in her everyday, standard wheelchair, captivated the audience at Dainton Golf Club with her speech, detailing the experiences that have shaped her into the individual she is today.

Lexi, who had her left leg amputated below the knee four years ago due to a chronic pain condition called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, also discussed her ambitious challenge set for September, where she will traverse approximately 874 miles from John o’ Groats to Land’s End.

Remarkably, the army veteran and former NHS nurse will be completing this challenge in her everyday standard wheelchair, covering roughly a marathon distance each day.

The event, which is part of the Chamber's monthly speaker series, drew a significant turnout with many new faces in attendance.

For those interested in supporting Lexi's challenge or learning more about her journey, you can donate and find out more by visiting the End2End website.

Although there will be no breakfast event in August, the Chamber is excited to announce their Summer Evening Drinks event on August 22 from 5:30pm to 8pm at Dainton Golf Club.

A ticket includes a welcome drink, nibbles and, of course, a great networking opportunity.

A spokesperson for Newton Abbot Chamber of Commerce said: ‘We will also be doing a raffle during the evening to raise money for our Charity of the Year, No Limits Cafe!

‘If you or your business would like to donate a prize for the raffle, please let our events organiser Jazz know via email - [email protected]

‘Tickets for our summer event are available now and can be purchased through the Chamber's website.

‘A heartfelt thank you goes out to Lexi Chambers for sharing her incredible story and to everyone who attended this morning’s event.

‘Your participation and enthusiasm make these gatherings truly special.’
