DAWLISH Town Council celebrated Commonwealth Day with a flag raising event at the Manor House.
Mayor of Dawlish Cllr Lin Goodman-Bradbury was joined by Dawlish councillor and chairman of Teignbridge Council Rosie Dawson for the event to mark the occasion.
They were joined by Dawlish Town Crier Bob Graham and his wife Heather.
The Commonwealth is a voluntary association of 56 independent and equal countries.
It is home to 2.7 billion people, and includes both advanced economies and developing countries.
Thirty-three members are small states, including many island nations.
Member governments have agreed to shared goals like development, democracy and peace.
