TWO talented siblings from Newton Abbot Martials Arts Club, Crystal Mason and Christian Stocker, recently represented their club and Newton Abbot with distinction at the ITF England National Championships in London on February 8, 2025.

Christian Stocker competed in patterns, sparring, and special technique, making his debut in the latter category. His hard work and dedication paid off as he secured a silver medal in sparring. He did amazingly well, progressing through several rounds and fighting some of the best students in the country.

Crystal Mason participated in patterns, sparring, and destruction, competing in the destruction category for the first time. Crystal showcased incredible skill and determination, earning a silver medal in both patterns and sparring, and striking gold in destruction.

Crystal had to deal with an extremely long day after a delay in the event and still competed with amazing focus and skill.

While at the championships, both Crystal and Christian had the invaluable experience of receiving in-ring coaching from Master Johann De Silva (pictured), one of the most respected figures in the ITF Taekwon-Do community.

Their coach, Ed Colman-Roberts, expressed his pride in their achievements, saying, "Crystal and Christian's hard work and perseverance are truly inspiring. They represented NAMA Martial Arts with confidence, respect, and determination. We are incredibly proud of their success on the national stage. I know it will inspire our other students to get involved with our future events this year."

The outstanding performances of these young athletes highlight the positive impact of martial arts training on building resilience, discipline, and sportsmanship. NAMA Martial Arts continues to empower local students through Taekwon-Do, Kickboxing, and Boxing classes.
