Alfie Collier, from Kingsteignton, has made it through the NDP National Men’s Artistic Gymnastic Finals, which take place at the GMAC Centre, Birmingham, in November.

Eleven-year-old Alfie, a pupil at Rydon Primary School, qualified in the gold medal position after competing against 13 of the top gymnasts from across the south west at the qualifying event held at Falcons Gymnastics Academy, Barnstaple.

He competed in seven disciplines, with his highest scores coming on floor, pommel and vault closely, followed by parallel bars, high bar, rings and body preparation.
