BAD weather has forced the cancellation of Sunday’s classic car show in Dawlish.

Organisers say today’s heavy rain and the forecast for Saturday and Sunday has led to the decision to cancel the event. 

A spokesman for Dawlish Celebrates said: ‘Due to the weather forecast for today, tomorrow and Sunday we have decided to cancel the classic vehicle gathering on Sunday July 16 on the Lawn and Strand.  

‘We are concerned that the weather could mean the Lawn becomes quite muddy quickly with the number of vehicles attending, over 130 booked in. 

‘At the same time some entries and those who normally come out to the event will not attend. 

‘We are sorry for the disappointing news but hope to have the event back in 2024.’
