DOG walkers are invited to get together with their pooches and raise money for modernising Kingsteignton Swimming Pool.

The walk, organised by the pool and Kingsteignton Veterinary Group, is on Saturday September 2, and registration is open now to start getting sponsors.

It will be a four-mile circular route, starting and finishing at the pool.

A spokesman for the event said: ‘Kingsteignton Veterinary Group and Kingsteignton Swimming Pool would like to invite you and your dogs to join us for an enjoyable morning’s walk for a good cause.

‘The route will be four miles starting at the pool, over to Preston, along the river and back.Treats for dogs and owners await you on your return!

‘All sponsorship raised will go towards the internal modernisation of the pool. We need to raise £10,000 in total and plan to start refurbishment during the pool’s closure. With this update, we hope to continue to serve the community for many more years.’
