VOLUNTEERS are needed to help run a new community shop.
With Christow’s new shop having arrived last week, the management committee are looking for people to join its growing team of volunteers-in-waiting.
The committee has worked out that it will need around 100 volunteers hours if it is to open for as long as it plans.
Prospective volunteers will be responsible for working the till, stocking the shelves and helping with deliveries.
Shift patterns are flexible, though a minimum of two hours is preferable - this could be either weekly or fortnightly.
No previous retail experience is required, volunteers can take on activities according to their level of confidence, experience, and area of interest.
Christow Community shop aims to provide an accessible, not-for-profit local shop and social hub run by and for the community.
It will sell locally produced food and goods, offer a hot beverage service and a place for people from Christow and the surrounding villages to meet.
