THE tunnel to a popular Teignbridge beach will be closed for a day this week due to power cut.

Shaldon's Ness beach will be inaccessible via the tunnel on Thursday, December 21, due planned power cuts from 8am to 4pm by the National Grid .

A spokesperson for Teignbridge District Council said: 'Unfortunately, with the power off, the tunnel will be in darkness making access to and from the beach unsafe.

'We apologise for any inconvenience caused.'
