FLORAL tributes, candles and a newspaper have been left behind a Newton Abbot shop in memory of a homeless man who has passed away.
Mark Bounden, who made the area around Market Walk his home for many years, has passed away following a short time in hospital.
He is believed to have died after contracting sepsis, the Mid-Devon Advertiser understands.
In the wake of his death, Teignbridge CVS, a charity aimed at improving the quality of life of the people of Teignbridge through voluntary action, launched a fundraiser on GoFundMe.
‘Unfortunately after a short time in hospital we are sad to hear he has passed away’ a spokesperson for Teignbridge CVS said.
‘We know that many residents of Newton Abbot and Teignbridge may want to contribute to a memorial for Mark and we are happy to collect on behalf of those residents’ the spokesperson added.
Since launching on Friday, November 8, the fundraiser has raised more than £700 of its £1,000 target.
