LEGAL action is being taken to evict a group of travellers who have set up camp in a car park close to a popular nature reserve.

A convoy of caravans and vehicles pitched up on a small piece of land just off Greenhill Way in Kingsteignton earlier this week.

Bosses at Teignbridge Council, which owns the land, revealed on Wednesday they were getting the ball rolling to have the unwanted group removed from their encampment – just a stone’s throw away from Hackney Marsh.

A spokesman said; ‘In line with council procedure we will be taking legal action to have them evicted.’
