A GROUP of travellers have set up shop in a Newton Abbot park.

Around a dozen caravans have encamped at Courtenay Park.

It is thought that they arrived on Monday evening (August 12).

‘We are aware of an unauthorised encampment in Courtenay Park, Newton Abbot’ a spokesperson for Teignbridge District Council said.

‘We are following the relevant legal process to remove this unauthorised encampment’ the spokesperson added.

This comes after another group were encamped at Forde Park for several weeks.
