THE Court Leet and Court Baron of the Manorial Borough of Newton Abbot held a Presentation of the Bellamy Tankard for the Best Ale and Hospitality within the Manorial Borough.

This was voted by the members on their Annual Ale Testing Ceremony held earlier.

The Bellamy Tankard was presented by Kath Winser in memory of her late brother, Ken Bellamy, to Dartmouth Inn landlords Chris and Lucinda Storey for being the most welcoming and of Good Ale Sold Here. A very popular choice.

Ken Bellamy was the court’s first Ale Taster when the courts were reintroduced by the present Lord of the Manorial Borough, Keith Stokes-Smith in 1991.

Certificates for Hospitality were also presented by the Portreeve, Allan Vizor, to three other Hostelries for their Hospitality – the Royal British Legion, Orsino and the Wolborough Inn.
