TRIBUTES have been paid to volunteers who have helped efforts to support people in Teignbridge during the cost of living crisis.
HITS Foodbank has praised the partnerships between different community groups and charities which have played a key role in efforts to address the current financial hardship.
Chairman of HITS trustees David Cox thanked the community.
He said: ‘HITS would just like to say a huge thank you to the; voluntary organisations, youth clubs, scouts, schools, faith groups, businesses and individual local people for the support with the food collections for HITS Food Bank.
‘As well as our amazing regular volunteers and our wonderful Christmas hamper volunteers.
‘All helped us to raise a phenomenal amount of food which supported so many families in the local area over the festive period.’
HITS volunteers delivered the last Christmas hamper and food pack at 8pm on Christmas Eve after an emergency call.
Trustee treasurer, Tricia Kirkby said: ‘HITS is incredibly grateful for the generosity of everyone’s great support, big or small, the spirit of Christmas is alive and well, even in these difficult times.’
