DEVON health chiefs’ announced plans to close Teignmouth Hospital and the town’s GP surgeries in favour of one ‘Health and Well-being’ centre in the town have come as a shock to some.

As the plans are set to go out for consultation, many people in Teignmouth have expressed concerns over the proposals.

District councillor Andrew MacGregor raised concerns about the lack of a back-up plan, he said: ‘I asked the CCG about a plan B, they told me there wasn’t one. This looks like a done deal to me.’
