DESPITE the odd shower here and there, an outdoor swimming pool celebrating its 124 year anniversary this past weekend saw a 'fantastic turnout'.
The oldest outdoor pool in Devon, Buckfastleigh Open Air Pool has been a beloved place to visit for more than a century.
And on Saturday, July 8, it marked it 124th year with a special celebration event.
There was pizzas supplied by Pizza Pirates UK and cakes courtesy of Waldrons Patisserie, which all helped to engender a positive atmosphere, as well as help raise funds for the pool; 1st Buckfastleigh Scout Group were on hand to provide games, and Emma Blackmore's jumble sale stall proved popular.
No such event would be completed without a ceremonial dunking in the pool, which befell a fully-clothed Ian Savage, manager at the pool.
