HIGH winds and driving rain caused havoc to Teignbridge yesterday with train services suspended, trees blocking roads and yachts breaking moorings.
Today the Shaldon to Teignmouth ferry will still be out of action due to the conditions.
Yesterday saw trains come to a halt at Dawlish station as services were suspended.
Rail operator Great Western Railway confirmed two trains carrying passengers were ‘stranded’ between Exeter and Plymouth - one at Dawlish and another at Teignmouth, with the cause unknown.
Flood alerts were in place through Sunday between Dawlish Warren and Seaton, and Start Point and Dawlish Warren.
Trees came down in the high winds in Bishopsteigntonand Holcombe Down Road.
A beach hut at the Point in Teignmouth was destroyed during the storm.
In Starcross, a number of yachts had broken their moorings in the River Exe and crashed into the harbour.
More than 10 boats were reported to have broken away and had collided with at least two boats at Starcross Yacht Club.
