REFURBISHMENT work to a Teignmouth leisure centre is ‘progressing smoothly’, Teignbridge District Council (TDC) has said.

The £3.7 million refurbishment of Broadmeadow Sports Centre began back in September 2024, and work is expected to be completed by May this year.

TDC has said that work decarbonising the buildings and aligning it with modern sustainability standards is ‘progressing smoothly’.

‘We are enhancing the changing areas and gym spaces, improving insulation, and implementing energy-efficient upgrades’ TDC said in it latest Residents Newsletter.

The project aims to transform the centre into an environmentally-friendly community hub.
