BATH time often proves to be a somewhat stressful experience for the vast majority of hedgehogs in ELM Wildlife’s care, but a recent admission is bucking that trend.
A patient at the Devon-based charity’s Seale Hayne rescue centre, Willis, pictured, marches to the beat of his own drum.
The hog was positively beaming during his bath, which is more than can be said for most.
The hedgehogs in ELM Wildlife’s care occasionally require baths for skin conditions, which involves handling the hogs for an extended period of time.
‘As wild animals, they find this very stressful’ a spokesperson for ELM Wildlife said.
‘Well, usually they do, Willis did not get the memo’ the spokesperson added.
Willis’ time spent soapy comes as ELM Wildlife says it only has the funds to run for the next six months.
The charity is looking to create a purpose-built rescue centre on land it purchased last year.
As such, it has launched a GoFundMe to help make its plans a reality.
