A TEIGNMOUTH man has admitted he caused a woman to fear that violence would be caused against her.
Stephen Monico Hamlyn, aged 50, of Kingsway, Teignmouth, pleaded guilty to a charge that the woman feared violence would be cause to her by his conduct of sending handwritten notes through her letterbox, a series of threatening messages by phone as well as voicemails and WhatsApp messages, in addition to turning up at her home and workplace. This was contrary to the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
Hamlyn was remanded in custody by South and West Devon Magistrates' Court until April 17 for sentencing.
He had pleaded not guilty to charge of conduct amounting to stalking and this was withdrawn.
