SHALDON Primary School has won a top education award, and staff, pupils and parents are 'over the moon'.

It was judged the best junior school in the south west in the government Character Awards, which comes with a £15,000 prize, and the chance to go on and collect another £20,000.

School representatives will travel to London on March 16 to collect the award from education secretary Nicky Morgan.
