THIS year sees a new venue for Teignmouth Art Society’s upcoming exhibition, writes Diannah Lowry.
Previous exhibitions were held in the Victoria Hall in Shaldon, however this year the Society’s exhibition venue is the Teignmouth Rugby Club on Bitton Park Rd, Teignmouth.
Many people simply see Teignmouth as a place of beauty with its seaside and estuary location, but there’s also a significant creative hub in the town.
Teignmouth Art Society (TAS) founded in 1948 has more than 170 members, and represents a vibrant community of artists through its various workshops and exhibitions.
Teignmouth Rugby Club is an exciting new venue for the Art Society combining the passions of both local art and sport under the same roof.
Free parking and a café mean you can leisurely browse the works of local artists while enjoying a coffee and light meal, and an easy walk into the town centre means you can make a day of what Teignmouth has to offer.
Dogs on leads are welcome also.
Visitors play an active role in the exhibition by contributing to the ‘People’s Choice Margaret Allenby Award’.
Other judged award categories are for miniature, portrait and floral paintings.
So come along, meet the artists, view their fabulous art work, and continue the tradition of voting for your favourite exhibit.
The TAS Exhibition will run from May 29 until June 4 – 10am until 6pm.
