AN organisation that tries to prevent drownings has been given a £600 boost by Teignmouth Estuary Rotary Club.
The cash came from the town’s harbour festival and a Christmas collection at Morrisons, and was handed over by club chairman Sue Dove to Andrea Roberts, community coordinator for the west at the Royal Life Saving Society UK.
‘We aim to teach our children and young people the Safe code. As the drowning prevention charity, we all know that children find water fun, but it is important they know how to stay safe,’ explained Ms Roberts.
