TEIGNMOUTH Rugby Club has made history by winning promotion.

They have just been crowned champions of the Tribute Western Counties League, and go up to South West One next season – the highest league tier the club has reached in its history.

The promotion was virtually clinched after a home 53-23 victory on Saturday against their closest rivals, Exeter University.

But they are now guaranteed the top spot after the university side lost a long drawn out appeal
