WITH Remembrance Sunday right around the corner, here is a list of services taking place across Teignbridge.
► Newton Abbot: The Devonport Royal Naval Volunteer Band will lead a procession through the town at 10.35am on Sunday, November 10. This will be followed by a service at the War Memorial at 10.45am. The service will be live-streamed on Newton Abbot Town Council’s page on Facebook. There will be a short service at the War Memorial on Monday, November 11 at 10.45am.
► Teignmouth: Organised by the Royal British Legion and Teignmouth Town Council, Sunday’s service will take place from 10.30am at the town’s War Memorial. A service will be held at 10.40am at the Triangle on Armistice Day.
► Bovey Tracey: Led by Rev. Graham Hamilton, Bovey Tracey’s service will begin at 10am at the Church of SS Peter, Paul & Thomas before an Act of Remembrance, including a wreathe laying ceremony, at the War Memorial at 11am.
► Buckfastleigh: A Remembrance service at St Luke’s Church will commence at 10.45am. After the main service, a procession will travel up to Holy Trinity Church. A parade, led by Standard Bearers, will depart from Fiddlers Green up to the War Memorial following the Standard Bearers. There will then be a short reading before the wreaths are laid starting at around 12:15pm.
► Chudleigh: A service will take place at 10.45am at Chudleigh Parish Church. There will be an Act of Remembrance at 12pm at the town’s War Memorial. There will also be a service at 11am at the War Memorial on Monday, November 11.
► Hennock: Act of Remembrance at the village’s War Memorial - a procession will then make its way to the local church for a short service.
► Chudleigh Knighton: The Remembrance service will commence in the local church at 10.45am and then move out to the War Memorial for 11am.
► Ashburton: Service begins at 9.30am at the War Memorial on Eastern Road. This will be followed by a service on Armistice Day at 10.50am outside the Town Hall.
