DRIVERS will no doubt rejoice to hear that the junction by Asda is open again, but aggrieved to learn that the road leading to the leisure centre is now closed.

Wales and West Utilities’ work to upgrade the gas pipes at the A382 junction by Asda has mostly been completed.

It is open, though there remains no left turn from Halcyon Road onto Highweek Street.

Traffic will surely flow easier now, however drivers are not out of the woods yet.

Highweek Road, the stretch of carriageway leading to Newton Abbot Leisure Centre, has now closed for gas works.

It is expected to be closed until July.
