PROPER signage warning pedestrians of the uneven pavement along a section of Queen Street has finally been put in place.

Staff from Poundland had put up their own signs after having helped several people who are said to have tripped, including an elderly gentlemen who would be taken to hospital with a broken nose and hand.

The Mid-Devon Advertiser has been told of half a dozen or so people have fallen or otherwise lost their footing on the section of Queen Street between the discount retailer and Sharpy's.

However, it is understood that there has been told no official reports of accidents reported to the contractors, who must keep an accident log.
