RAIN over the weekend triggered the discharge of sewage into the sea by South West Water this weekend.

Charity and pressure group Surfers Against Sewage reported pollution at Teignmouth Holcombe Beach on Sunday, as well as Meadfoot Beach, near Torquay and Salcombe.

Pollution at Holcombe Beach is yet to clear, and the charity is advising all to stay out of the water until it does.
