POLICE have issued a reminder to motorists to remain vigilant when travelling with a full car over the Christmas period.

It is that time of year for visiting friends and family, which means packing the car to the brim with presents, so much so that the back window can become obstructed; as such Newton Abbot Police are reminding drivers to be especially vigilant over the festive period.

'Whether you’re driving on the A380 or East Street you may have been guilty of not seeing blue lights behind you trying to get an emergency incident' a spokesman for Newton Abbot Police said.

'This happens surprisingly often, we would really appreciate it if you paid full attention whilst driving, if this does happen, stay calm and look for somewhere safe to move left and stop' the spokesman added.
