POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a cyclist was found with serious head injuries on Dartmoor yesterday. [Wednesday].
The 68-year-old man was found at 4.50pm lying unconscious on the B3212 between Postbridge and Moretonhampstead.
He had sustained what were described as life-changing injuries and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital by air ambulance. He remains there in a serious condition.
Police said that the man, from Essex, appears to have been cycling alone.
The road was closed for three-and-a-half hours for collision investigators to examine the scene and officers are trying to establish how he became injured.
The man is described as white and was wearing an orange coat, black cycling shorts and a red and white cycle helmet. His machine was a white Dawes road bike.
