THE planters that will each contain a Juneberry tree have been put in place along Queen Street.
A total of seven trees will adorn the Newton Abbot road, five at the far western end and two at the junction with The Avenue.
The trees mark the end of the controversial scheme to enhance Queen Street, in addition to three new public benches and hanging baskets.
Teignbridge District Council said there had been a slight delay, but that the trees would be installed by the end of March.
The three benches are between Prospect Terrace and Fairfield Terrace.
The scheme was supposed to include tree pits, however due to ‘unexpected underground services not shown on historic plans’, they could not be installed below the footway at the western end of Queen Street.
