A TEIGNMOUTH charity was the grateful recipient of a new mobility scooter gifted them by local councillors.

Teignmouth Shopmobility was able to purchase the scooter thanks to a grant from Shaldon Parish Council.

The charity provides mobility scooters, wheelchairs, and strollers to give independence for  elderly and disabled people accessing Teignmouth and its surrounding area, including Shaldon.

‘Over the last year a number of Shaldon residents and visitors have benefited from our service’ a spokesperson for the charity said.

‘We have two trustees that live in Shaldon and are able to deliver boot scooters when required, if users are unable to get to our premises in the Quay Car Park in Teignmouth.
