A VILLAGE on Dartmoor is gearing up to plant its Jubilee Orchard after a successful, albeit wet, open day.
Parishioners from Widecombe-in-the-Moor braved the less than ideal weather on Saturday, October 22 for the open day, where much cider was consumed.
The open day revolved around the future planting of trees in a field in the village- dubbed the ‘Jubille Orchard'.
Those present were shown where trees would be planted, with many also signing up to be sponsors of the project.
It is hoped that the trees which are to make up the Orchard will be planted on Saturday, January 28, however this date could change.
