FARMERS from across the region came together at Higher Humber Farm to show off the best of Devon’s produce at the Newton Abbot Winter Show, as it celebrated its 101st year.
Jonathan Bell, of Rendells, said: ‘It was an absolutely fantastic day.
‘A special thanks to Geoff and Joe Lang of Higher Humber Farm, without them there would be no show.’
Farmer Chris Eddy won the cattle show championship, judged by Nigel and Elizabeth Bunkham. For the sheep, Robert Darke took show champion.
Jonathan added: ‘There were strong entries as usual, but particularly with the new exhibitors in cattle lines. We were particularly impressed with the Gale family of Teigngrace.
‘A special mention to Mervin Reed of Cullompton, who came to judge the young farmers stock judging. Well done to young farmers Josh Quant, Elizabeth Wills and Charlotte Gale.’
