A NEW defibrillator has been installed on the side of the Bay Vet Group premises at Hele Park.
The installation was organised by Newton Abbot Community Interest Company.
Emily Farrell from Newton Abbot CIC said: ‘We were contacted some time ago by the residents of Hele Park to ask for help installing a defibrillator, and we are thrilled that it has now happened.
‘We’d like to thank Steven Humphreys from Devon Renewables and Bay Vet Group for their help with the installation.’
The defibrillator was funded from Councillor Phil Bullivant's Locality pot, and by Griffiths, the contractor who have been working on the construction of the new road from the A382 towards the western side of Newton Abbot.
A representative from Griffiths Construction said: ‘We are delighted that the defibrillator has now been installed at the Vets at Hele Park.
‘This will ensure that a vital and timely response can be made in an emergency situation.’
