THERE”S a new kid on the block in Dawlish - the town’s iconic black swan population has welcomed an addition. 

One cygnet has hatched on the specially-constructed nesting area on Tuck’s Plot. 

Dad, who is called Bert, is one of the more prolific of the black swan’s so is an old hand at fatherly duties. 

News of the hatching has been greeted with delight by onlookers who are pleased the family were able to survive the recent storms.
