WITH National Tea Day just weeks away, a Dartmoor-based charity is gearing up to celebrate it in style.

Widecombe Community Hall CIO are celebrating National Tea Day with an afternoons 'High Tea' event at Leusdon Memorial Hall.

For £5 persons can enjoy home-made savoury and sweet dishes with, of course, plenty of tea among peers.

The event is to take place from 3pm to 5pm on Friday, April 21, and, while everyone is welcome, booking beforehand is necessary.

National Tea Day is observed in the United Kingdom every year on April 21 to celebrate the drinking of tea.

It is celebrated in tea rooms, hotels, pubs and cafés through special events, and charitable fundraising events held across the country.
