A MUM-OF-TWO from Ogwell has been found guilty of failing to send two children to school.
Devon County Council’s education department prosecuted the parent for failing to comply with requirements of a School Attendance Order.
Two orders were served on November 1 2021 relating to a boy and a girl.
The prosecution stated that on November 11 2021, the parent on whom the order had been served, failed to comply with its requirements for both the boy and the girl to attend school.
The mother pleaded not guilty to both offences.
But she was found guilty of both charges and sentenced by magistrates to a conditional discharge for six months. She was further ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £22 and costs of £220.
