MORE than £1,700 was raised when 130 guests gathered for an evening of entertainment all in the name of charity.

The event, in aid of Cancer Research UK, saw punters enjoy a two course dinner and take part in a quiz, raffle and silent auction.

Lyn Kelly, who organised the charity spectacle, thanked the auctioneers from Bearnes, Hampton and Littlewood who kept the crowds amused as well as everyone who supported the occasion.
