A MAN was trapped in an overturned van on the A381 today, Wednesday.

There were long delays reported by AA Roadwatch as emergency services dealt with the crash on the A381 Besigheim Way Southbound from the A380 Besigheim Way (Ware Barton Roundabout) to A380 South Devon Highway (Penn Inn Roundabout).

Fire Control reports: ‘Two fire engines from Newton Abbot and one from Teignmouth were sent to a report of a road traffic collision where a van had rolled over with an occupant still inside.

‘Crews liaised with paramedics on scene to extricate the casualty using stabilisation equipment and small tools.

‘Luckily the man sustained only minor injuries.’

AA Roadwatch reported there was congestion to traffic heading towards Kingsteignton Retail Park and Teignmouth but the road was re-opened later this afternoon.
