A MAN has been found dead on Dartmoor following a search by Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team (DSRT).

The team were called in to assist in a search on April 2, for a male who was believed to be at high risk.

A search dog was deployed, and within one hour a body was found. which was confirmed to be the missing person.

Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team then recalled most of its team back to the rendezvous point, while the remaining members escorted police officers and ambulance personnel to the casualty location.

A stretcher party was sent to recover him from the moor, and the deployment was completed just before 10pm.

‘Our thoughts are with the family at this sad time’ a spokesperson for DSRT said.

‘Once again we thank the Two Bridges Hotel for providing shelter, warmth and hot refreshments to our members’ the spokesperson added.
