A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of stealing a motorcycle following a series of thefts in Newton Abbot.

On their Facebook page the town's police report: 'Since the beginning of the year, eleven motorcycles have been stolen from Newton Abbot.

'Four of these were stolen in the past week! also in this time 19 vehicles have been broken into and items stolen. 

'Plain clothes officers were in the area of Bradley Lane in relation to the thefts when a male came back to collect a stolen motorcycle hidden away.'He was arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle and has been bailed until the 20th July while inquiries are ongoing.'
