POLICE have praised the Newton Abbot CCTV operators after they arrested a man suspected of damaging a car.

On their Facebook page the town’s police this afternoon, Sunday, report: ‘Another busy night last night, plenty of drunken antics from many people.

‘Neighbourhood officers identified a suspect who had caused criminal damage to a vehicle in town, another eagle eyed spot from the local CCTV operator captured him walking out of town.

‘The offender was arrested minutes later, this is a great example of good local knowledge and great partnership working.’
