A LOVE Volunteering event at Newton Abbot’s Tesco store will give people the chance to find out how they can help provide vital volunteering services to make a real difference in their local community.
The event is on February 10.
Janette Parker, community champion at Tesco Newton Abbot, said: ‘Tesco Newton Abbot will be hosting a Love Volunteering event where we are inviting voluntary organisations to have a stall at the store to raise awareness and recruit volunteers.
‘Voluntary organisations are providing vital services and activities in our communities. Services which keep our communities healthy.
‘They deal with such issues as social isolation, fitness, health, and poverty. None of which can happen without volunteers generously giving of their time.
‘Volunteering is a great way of meeting new people, gaining, and sharing skills and most of all being part of building a healthy community.
‘Come along on the day to find out how you can help.’
‘If the day is successful in helping our hardworking volunteer groups getting in touch with people who would like to volunteer their help we’d love to hold another event like this.’
Janette said there is still time for any groups looking to recruit volunteers to get in touch and have a stall at the event. She can be contacted at [email protected]
