FIRE watchers are in for a treat tonight as the whole country goes up in flames to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday.
Special anniversary beacons across the UK will be set alight to commemorate the royal achievement.
And Teignbridge will be no exception with a profusion of birthday bonfires twinkling in the twilight for good Queen Elizabeth.
Three illuminations will be casting their spell over Newton Abbot when the go-ahead for ignition is given at 8.30pm at Wolborough’s Stonemasons Hill, All Saints Church in Highweek and Shaldon Road, Buckland.
At the same time Hennock’s dwindling light will be reinvigorated with a ceremonial flare-up at Bottor Rock Farm with a similar celebration at Haytor.
Teignmouth’s blaze will be in The Triangle at 8pm while Bovey Tracey will mark HRH’s great day half-an-hour later at the allotments in Furzleigh Lane.
Other conflagrations will be caught around the district authority area.
