THE festive season will have well and truly arrived on Saturday in Newton Abbot as the town switches on its Christmas lights.
St Leonards Clock Tower will be illuminated on November 23 at 5.30pm, with day-time entertainment from 12pm.
Father Christmas, who, having found time in his busy schedule, will be at the switch-on in his trademark sleigh.
Elsewhere, there will be a series of late-night shopping evenings in Newton Abbot starting on December 4, which is also the ever-popular Victorian Evening.
December 11 is the town’s Lantern Parade and December 18 is the Mayor’s carol service.
Father Christmas will be present at each of the late-night shopping evenings at the clock tower.
