HUGE queues are forming along the banks of the River Thames in London as people wait to pay their respects to Her Majesty the Queen.

Her lying-in-state will continue 24 hours a day until 6.30am on Monday, the day of her state funeral.

People queuing are being warned they will need to stand for many hours with little opportunity to sit down, as the queue is constantly moving.

The maximum length of the queue is 10 miles with 6.9miles from Westminster to Southwark, and a three-mile zigzag queue in Southwark Park.

The UK government has published a live queue tracker for people to follow on YouTube.

As of 11am today, the government’s Department for Culture, Media and Sport estimated the queue was 3.5miles long.

Some people have waited overnight to catch their glimpse of the Queen’s coffin which is lying in Westminster Hall.

The queue has step-free access and there is a separate accessible route for those who need it, starting from Tate Briton.

Facilities and water are available along the route.

There are strict rules for those wanting to view the coffin and everyone who wants access to the Palace of Westminster will need to go through airport-style security.
