A NEW secure compound has been launched specially for dogs to enjoy.

The Hound Compound is a fenced off area at Dawlish Countryside Park designed to provide a safe area for training dogs and puppies. 

It can also be used by dogs who need their own quieter space to play and run about without other dogs. 

Owners can use the area for recall training and for agility training with their dog. 

It is free to use but visitors are asked to only stay for a maximum duration of 20 minutes. 

They should wait outside if the space is already in use unless there is agreement to share with the current user. 

The new space is part of the countryside park which opened in 2017 at Shutterton Lane. 

The 65 acre park is a public open space with wild countryside and walks.
